I began my career in earnest as a financial news journalist in New York (until I realized writers didn't make enough money to live in New York!), and that --eventually-- led to a career highlighted by management roles in Fortune 1000 companies, international projects in Latin America, and leadership roles at venture-capital and start-up organizations.
A particularly "annoying" case of Multiple Sclerosis knocked me off my career track a few years ago, forcing me to take a desk job. However, thanks to a great team of doctors at UCLA, I am feeling better than I have in years and I am back on track --albeit heading for a different terminal.
Returning to my roots as a marketing strategist and communication specialist, I now run my own consulting practice. I provide a variety of services as an Interim Marketing Director for fast moving, but lean organizations that may not have the in-house resources or the current budget for full-time marketing and business development resources.
Leveraging my experience, my clients are able to add an immediately valuable management resource without the typical costs of recruiting, training, benefits and taxes.
(I also work as a free-lance journalist, covering health care, business and economic topics).
